From The Painting Table

I've gotten myself swamped with a bit of commission work lately and wanted to share what I've been working on.  The first Tau pieces I have ever painted and two of them were Riptides.  I had wanted to build and paint one of these since the model came out and I got a chance to when a friend of mine asked me to paint his.

The first one I worked on was partially painted and I got to finish it off.  I added a bit more damage and heat effects.  The second piece I worked on was Shas'O R'Alai and I was able to paint it however I wanted.  I had seen a picture of a Riptide painted to fade from a dark grey/black to white which I really liked and thought it would be a lot of fun to attempt and would look great.  I changed it up a little and really liked the turn out.  Luckily so did the person I was painting it for.

The last piece was the second Riptide and we wanted to try to blend the initial army paint scheme found on the first Riptide with the paint scheme on Shas'O R'Alai.  I was a little leery at first about whether or not it would work out but I really like the end result.  There is a lot of color and all of the colors worked better than I thought they would.  I wanted it to look like the Riptide was shifting from one paint scheme to the other.  Hope you guys like it.

Enjoy and please comment!
